An announcement shoot in the Wicklow hills..

Lauren and Kevin are originally from South Africa but now call Ireland home. They met when Lauren was working in a bar in SA;

“I was working behind a bar. He has asked for my number but never messaged me. A year later we saw each other again and then the next day I finally got a message from him! and we have been together ever since!”

Ten years on, they were living in Ireland and had secretly eloped!

“We wanted it to be a private and special moment between the two of us. We didn't want the stress of planning a wedding and dealing with wedding drama so we thought the best way was to just keep it simple - and I loved the fact that we surprised people with our beautiful pictures”

Lauren and Kevin contacted me to take some photographs that they could use to announce to their friends and family back home in SA that they were married.

I loved this idea and was so thrilled to be a part of it!

They mentioned that they love the greens and browns of our moody landscapes here in Ireland and when Lauren suggested that a forest setting would be ideal, she put her trust in me to decide on the location for their shoot.

This spot in County Wicklow overlooks the dramatic Lough Tay or ‘Guinness lake’, and I think makes for a beautiful photography back drop but don’t take my word for it…
