Intimate Wedding in Ashford & Celebration at The Grain Store, Kilruddery | Wicklow Wedding Photographer
Some love stories really do start young — and this one is as special as they come.
These two met back in secondary school and have been together since they were just 16 years old. Years later, with their little boy by their side, they chose to celebrate their wedding in a way that felt completely true to them: intimate, relaxed, and centred around the people who matter most.
Their wedding day began with a small, heartfelt ceremony at a beautiful venue in Ashford, Co. Wicklow, surrounded by a select group of family and close friends. The atmosphere was calm and emotional, filled with proud smiles, happy tears, and that quiet excitement that builds when something really meaningful is about to happen.
It was the perfect start to a wedding day that was all about connection, comfort, and celebrating in their own way.
From Intimate Ceremony to Relaxed Celebration
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to The Grain Store at Kilruddery House in Co. Wicklow for the celebration — and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for the evening they had planned.
The Grain Store has such a warm, rustic, barn-style feel, which suited their relaxed celebration beautifully. With round tables and everyone seated together, the room felt cosy and full of conversation — the kind of atmosphere where laughter carries easily and everyone feels part of the celebration.
Instead of a traditional wedding meal, guests were treated to delicious wood-fired pizza and generous charcuterie boards, which kept things relaxed while still feeling really special. Out in the courtyard, an ice-cream vendor and a Guinness tap added to the fun, giving guests plenty of reasons to wander out for a treat and soak up the evening air.
Speeches were short but incredibly heartfelt, filled with stories, laughter, and more than a few emotional moments. It was the perfect balance of meaningful and laid-back — a celebration that felt completely true to who they are, and one where everyone was simply enjoying being together.
Dancing, Cake, and a Night to Remember
Once the formalities were over and the music started, the energy shifted and the celebration really came to life.
With an incredible DJ and saxophone combo, the dance floor filled quickly and stayed busy all night. From the first song to the last, there was no shortage of laughter, big hugs, and some very enthusiastic dance moves.
They cut their cake, raised a few glasses, and then danced the night away with their friends and family — the perfect ending to a day that had already been full of love, emotion, and brilliant moments.
It was relaxed, joyful, and full of personality — exactly the kind of evening that reflects everything about them as a couple.
A Day That Felt Like Them
What made this wedding so special wasn’t the size or the schedule — it was the connection. A couple who’ve grown up together, built a family together, and chose to celebrate their marriage in a way that felt relaxed, meaningful, and full of love.
Weddings like this are a perfect reminder that there’s no one right way to do things. Whether you’re planning something small and intimate or a big party with everyone you know, the most important thing is that it feels like you.
